Where Silence Speaks Opportunity
HearRise was born in Kollam, Kerala — not in a boardroom, but in the heart of a sister who watched her brother’s talent go unnoticed for years. This is our real story.
Our Mission
Inclusion Is Not a Charity — It's a Choice
HearRise was founded on one simple belief: everyone deserves equal opportunities, regardless of their hearing ability. Our mission is to help deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across India find meaningful and respectful employment opportunities.
We are more than just a job portal. HearRise is a platform that connects talented individuals with inclusive employers who believe in equal opportunity and diversity.
By breaking communication barriers and creating accessible hiring opportunities, we aim to build a future where skills and talent matter more than limitations.
Our Story
More Than an Idea — A Problem Close to Home
Sreelekshmi had always known the gap existed. For years, she watched her brother Ajay Raj — 25, capable, and full of quiet determination — cycle through jobs he could do well, only to lose them. Not because of poor performance. Not because he lacked skill. But because the workplaces around him were never truly built for someone who communicates differently.
Ajay is hearing impaired. And in India’s job market, that single fact has been enough to close more doors than it opens. Communication barriers led to misunderstandings. Misunderstandings led to exits. And each exit chipped away a little more at his confidence — and at Sreelekshmi’s patience with a system that simply refused to adapt.
She didn’t set out to build a business. She set out because she was tired of watching someone she loves be underestimated, over and over again.
Sreelekshmi is a digital marketing learner from Kollam, Kerala — practical, driven, and deeply motivated by real problems over trendy ideas. When she sat down to prepare for a speak-up session at a pitch contest, she made herself a promise: she would not walk into that room with something generic. She wanted to solve something she had lived. Something she had felt in her own home for years. HearRise was her answer.
The Turning Point
The Pitch That Became a Purpose
It all started during a pitch contest speak up session.
While thinking about a real problem worth solving, Sreelekshmi realised the answer had always been close to home.
Across India, millions of deaf and hearing impaired individuals are educated, talented, and ready to work. But finding the right opportunities is still difficult because there are very few platforms built specifically for them.
Many skilled individuals are often overlooked, not because of their talent, but because of communication barriers and lack of accessible hiring spaces.
That is how HearRise was born.
HearRise is being built to create equal employment opportunities for deaf and hearing impaired individuals by connecting them with inclusive employers across India.
More than a job portal, HearRise is a step towards a future where talent is valued beyond limitations.
The platform is launching soon, but the mission has already begun.
